Mister Worker® drives international growth with Amazon Pay

Specialising in professional and industrial tools, Mister Worker® expanded beyond their Italian roots to serve business customers in more than 95 countries using Amazon Pay for a trusted checkout experience.

When a plane engine needs maintenance or a construction project requires specialised aerospace-grade tools, professionals can’t simply visit their local hardware store. These critical maintenance and repair operations require precision equipment— tools that Mister Worker® has been delivering since 2013.

Founded in Milan, Italy, as a local tool provider, Mister Worker® has transformed into an international B2B supplier for maintenance, repair, and operations equipment, using Amazon Pay as a primary payment option for their small and midsize business shoppers. Today, the merchant serves customers across more than 180 countries, from global manufacturers and government agencies to small maintenance shops and midsize businesses, with more than 270,000 specialised products.

Building a digital marketplace for specialised tools

The company’s journey began in Italy under the name Attrezzi & Utensili. A pivotal rebrand to Mister Worker® in 2018 set the stage for international growth, leading to successful market entries across the United States and beyond.

“It’s in our DNA to be a digital and global ecommerce company. Our motto is: ‘We ship everything everywhere!’” says Gianluca Borsotti, CEO and Founder of Mister Worker®. “We don’t have physical sales representatives going to different customers. The digital relationship is always our priority.” With this digital-first approach, the merchant has served some of the world’s most well-known brands, including several car manufacturers and major airlines, while conducting their business entirely online.

As Mister Worker® expanded internationally, they needed payment solutions that could match their ambitions while building trust with new customers. Specifically, the merchant wanted to increase their reach with small- and medium-sized businesses. In 2019, they implemented Amazon Pay as a primary payment solution on their website so that shoppers could quickly check out using a trusted brand and convenient payment solution.

In 2021, Mister Worker® upgraded to the latest payment technology of Amazon Pay to further streamline the experience for their customers. “Amazon Pay is very useful for us in getting payments from all around the world,” says Borsotti. “It’s really incredible. The ability to reach shoppers globally is our main asset.”

Expanding across markets with a trusted payment solution

One of the merchant’s initial goals in implementing Amazon Pay for its growing shopper base was to increase customer trust. The merchant found that the trust factor with the internationally recognised Amazon brand is valuable in reaching small and medium businesses worldwide. “When shoppers see that Amazon Pay is accepted, they trust that the website is a professional ecommerce site and not a scam,” says Borsotti. This trust factor is reinforced by robust fraud protection, which has proven especially valuable for global transactions where fraud can be common. “We haven’t experienced any fraud from customers using Amazon Pay,” says Lorenzo Cereda, Payments Administrator at Mister Worker®.

Great user experience is also key for Mister Worker®. While major corporations often use wire transfers for large orders, smaller businesses and B2B customers prefer faster, more convenient payment options. “When you have an ecommerce site, everything has to be user-friendly,” says Borsotti. “It’s one of the secrets to success, and using Amazon Pay is a way to ease the payment process.” Using Amazon Pay helps streamline the checkout experience for shoppers, making both small and large orders on the merchant’s website as simple, fast, and convenient as possible.

These factors combined have helped to support the growing global shopper base of Mister Worker®, evidenced by an increased conversion rate. “We found that the conversion rate with Amazon Pay is excellent, better than with other payment gateways that we’ve used,” says Borsotti.

The combination of trust and convenience has driven significant results for Mister Worker®. Amazon Pay is now the merchant’s most popular online payment method in more than 95 countries, representing 21% of the merchant’s total orders and 10% of their payment volume. “Using Amazon Pay supports our global vision,” says Borsotti.

Using Amazon Pay to further streamline payments

Mister Worker® plans to implement Amazon Pay buttons directly on product pages to further streamline the purchasing process. It looks forward to continued growth, using Amazon Pay to enhance the relationship with shoppers worldwide.

Within the next three years, Mister Worker® plans to move to a marketplace business model, where they will connect shoppers and merchants. “Our vision is to become a primary global player in the maintenance, repair, and operations business,” says Borsotti. “Amazon Pay is one of our most valuable assets as we reach this global scale.”
