Reporting Phishing or Spoof E-mails

Phishing or Spoof E-mails

If you receive an unsolicited e-mail that appears to be from Amazon Payments that requests personal information (such as your credit card, login or password), or that asks you to verify or confirm your Amazon Payments account information by clicking on a link, that e-mail was sent by a 'phisher' or 'spoofer'. Amazon Payments will never ask for this type of information in an e-mail. Do not click on the link. Note that if you did not click on the link in the spoof e-mail, your account at Amazon Payments is fine. (Even if you did click on the link and go to the forged web page, but didn't enter anything, the phishers will not have your account information.) Read our page about how to identify spoof e-mails.

To contact us about a suspicious e-mail you have received, read through the subject lines listed here, click on the Contact us link below and then select the corresponding subject line on the form.

To be sure that your message is routed to the correct department as quickly as possible, carefully choose the subject line on the contact form that best fits your situation.

  • 'I am reporting a spoof e-mail' Choose this subject if you have received an e-mail that you know is a fraud and you just want to report it to us.
  • 'I received a suspicious e-mail, is it from Amazon Payments?' Choose this subject if you have received an e-mail that looks like it is from Amazon Payments, but you are not sure that it is.
  • 'I am concerned about my account' Choose this subject if you responded to a phishing e-mail, entered your personal information on a fraudulent website and you have noticed suspicious activity on Your Account such as password changes or purchases that you didn't make.
